We investigate the interface of living organisms and biomolecules with engineered systems.

Our goal is to understand bioelectricity, using bioelectronics. We do this for curiosity, and because these mechanisms are linked to how we heal, other health conditions, and how our tissues and organs form.

Interfaces we care about:

person ⇄ person

Great research culture is at the heart of how we operate. We are continually learning from our peers and developing better ways to carry out our research.

We're based at the University of York, a research-intensive university in the United Kingdom. The stunning, lakeside campuses form the backdrop for our work, while being perched on the outskirts of the ancient city of York.
